On a ream of rolled-out paper measuring 4 ft wide and 24 ft in length, I will paint an Infinite Spiral – a continuous design with twists and turns, and a chaotic repetitive motion that will span the entire length of the paper. Echoing the theme of gravity, my process involves the direct application of paint to the paper’s surface via bodily suspension: I place a sock on one foot; dip that socked foot into paint; and while standing on my other bare foot, I spin as my socked foot paints the spins onto the paper. I am also collecting rocks and other natural materials, that will hod down the paper to the desert ground, and for all intents and purposes, will form an Asteroid Belt, holding the Orbital Dance in a fixed position, with a dancer at the axis.
