2027 Desert Biennial Project centers on Flux: a state of movement, impermanence, and continuous change. The exhibition considers ecological change within a fragile desert environment, where land and climate are continually impacted by human presence (and vice versa). It explores personal and collective identity in a region influenced by migration, reinvention, and layered histories. It also reflects on the changing role of art in the entertainment capital of the world, where spectacle and permanence often dominate public space. The ACCNV (Arts Community Coalition of Nevada) invites artists to show work engaged with ideas of transition, creating work that shifts with the environment, deteriorates, adapts, or encourages involvement.
