Orbital Dance

This piece was created for The Desert Biennial Project/GRAVITY, a one day, site installation, art exhibition in the Nevadan desert. The Orbital Dance is an extension of my Dance of Life performance/piece. A dance of painted spins and sashays, but as opposed to stationary spins, the spins extended out, painting the dance of life across the spectrum, becoming its own galaxy. The dancer at the axis, painting the galaxy with each twist and turn. Every painted spin and swirl signifies the continuous variation, yet repetitious events of life, and the incredible ways in which the human body can interact with the laws of gravity. Painting a galaxy, with a spin that creates the rings of a planetary orbit; the embodiment of life and existence, painted with twist and turns, with a continuous pattern.
