Biography
April Bermudez (American, b. 1978) is multidisciplinary artist whose work has been informed by personal experiences and the continuous deciphering of life. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, she tells stories of her past, while seeking to define the complexities, absurdities, and marvels of existence. Whether presenting her direct experiences, or serving as a mirror to the experiences of her audience, Bermudez challenges the conceptualization of art to stretch beyond the conventional boundaries of medium or style.
Bermudez studied art at Cerritos Community College and Pasadena City College. She has participated in numerous group shows, and has garnered acclaim and recognition from The Consulate of Mexico in Las Vegas, Nevada and the City of Las Vegas, Office of the City Council. She has received Special Congressional Recognition from the United States Senate, and Special Congressional Commendations. Recent press includes profiles in Bold Journey, Canvas Rebel, and Shoutout LA. The artist lives and works in Las Vegas, Nevada.
